Valley Garden - Windsor Great Park - April 13th 2009
On the bank holiday Monday we
went to the Valley Garden in Windsor Great Park.
It was a beautiful sunny day and the spring colours of the
azaleas and the
rhodendrons were vibrant.

Portsmouth harbour (April 9th 2009)
In Portsmouth harbour you can
see cars which think that they are boats, as
this picture shows of a car in front of HMS Warrior! I hope that
the owner
came back soon as the tide was still coming in. I also went up
the Spinnaker
Tower. You can stand on a glass floor and look straight down. Two
of my
photos are looking straight up at this glass floor from the
ground.
Oxford v Cambridge boat race 2009 (March 29th 2009)
I was fortunate to be able to
watch the Boat race from the balcony of Furnival
Scullers Boat house at Hammersmith. This is on the outside of the
bend just
past Hammersmith Bridge and provided an excellent location
providing good
views of the race. It took me back to my glory days of coxing the
GB women's
quad on this stretch of the river (well only once because they
were desparate!)
Waterloo Bridge and LIF photos (March 2009)
In contrast to the last set of
snow pictures spring is here. I walked over
Waterloo Bridge one spring morning. This bridge has some of the
finest
views over the Thames and some famous London landmarks such as St
Paul's,
the OXO tower, National Theatre, Royal Festival Hall, Houses of
Parliament,
London Eye and Somerset House. Less well known is that there is a
RNLI
Lifeboat station right in front of Somerset House. Just round the
corner
from the bridge is the beautiful Lincoln Inn's Field. The main
part of the
garden is a typical London sqaure but to the east are the
buildings which form
the ancient inn itself. This is where barristers get called to
the Bar after
dinning in the Great Hall.
Snow Feb 2009 (Feb 2nd 2009)
We have had a bit of snow today!
It is about the most I can ever remember.
Walked to work but was almost the only person there. This picture
is of a
magnolia which looks as though it is in full bloom until you
realise it is all
snow, not petals!
